Financial District worker bees now have a breakfast taco option in King David Taco, a Prospect Park cart that has added another in downtown Manhattan. Weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., three breakfast tacos are on offer: BPEC (bacon, potato, egg, and cheese), Queen Bean (refried beans, potato, egg, and cheese), and Or’izo (Mexican chorizo, potato, egg, and cheese).
Since the 1950s, George’s has been fueling the FiDi work crowd ahead of a day’s work. The no-nonsense diner is serving breakfast essentials like chocolate pancakes, eggs with hash browns, waffles, and many omelets. The familial staff and setting at George’s are hard to find elsewhere.
Keith McNally’s aesthetic lends itself to the ground floor of the Beekman Hotel, where Augustine’s yellow-hued dining room presents a lovely setting for a leisurely breakfast. It’s traditional breakfast items on the menu like eggs in a hole and avocado toast, even though prices are along the lines of dinnertime. Get a basket of pastries, provided by the always-stellar Balthazar Bakery.
